Where do I start? Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Everything was perfect. We had the pleasure of staying in this condo for 2 months. It was a dream. This condo is an easy short walk to the beach.! The condo itself is large and comfortable, with air conditioning and 3 ceiling fans, clean and cool - nice linens, comfortable beds, washer and dryer, nice furniture, tasteful decorations, and a large kitchen with all the plates, utensils, pans, etc you need. We did not have a car and didn\'t need one. We really liked this place and its location, and I imagine that you will, too. Owner Deborah knows how to make their guests feel relaxed and comfortable. She lives close approx. 3 min walk and she is also very accessible by email or phone. You deal directly with the owner and not a property Manager. it is nice to know she will be quick to respond to any queries that you may have.
My husband and I stayed for 4 weeks at this apartment in May/early June. The apartment is quiet, light and airy, very spacious and well appointed. We lacked for nothing. We were treated to a harvest of mangoes from her tree and the monkeys came by to do their own harvest, as well...a special treat! We were students at the Interculltura Language School and the apartment was well suited for study time and homework. Debra is available if needed and a very pleasant person. We also loved being only a block or two from the beach. We would certainly stay again and agree with all other positive reviews.
These two classy apartments are situated about 3 minutes from the beauty of Playa Samara, one of the best and safest beaches in Costa Rica. We spent most of our time walking the spacious beaches, bobbing in the waves, and collecting the interesting shells that the sea offers up everyday. We did not need a car during our stay, but if you have one, there is lots of safe off-street parking. Returning to Deborah\'s Mardelindo Apartments after a long hard day at the beach, we were greeted by non-intrusive howler monkeys, shy iguanas and geckos and even the odd chicken pecking in the grass. The private outdoor shower was a must before entering the spotless apartment. Deborah\'s flair for artistic decoration and detail is apparent in every part of this two-level apartment. She has also included lots of fluffy white towels and extra bedding, pretty cushions galore, even huge beach towels and portable beach chairs. If you are staying here, you are probably interested in doing your own cooking, and the fully-equipped kitchen will not disappoint. There is also a full laundry room with all the products you would have at home. The apartment is probably designed for a couple, with one bedroom upstairs, but there is lots of room downstairs for a couple of kids to sleep on the couch or huge window seat. The Canopy Tour business is downstairs from the apartments and gives a discount for tenants. There is a busy road in front of the apartment and you will hear the traffic until around midnight, but after that the only sound is the friendly chirp of the gecko and the crow of the rooster at dawn.
My husband and I just spent a month in one of these apartments. We chose this spot because of the photos and reviews. We were not in the least bit disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed our Costa Rican experience and now understand Pura Vida! The apartment is exactly as it is represented in the photos. Clean, bright, open and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very well equipped and the BBQ is an added bonus. There are some very welcomed extras, such as numerous quality towels and linens, great beach towels and chairs. We did not lack any of the comforts of home. The apartment is on the outskirts of town, but it really is a 5 minute walk to the beach and about 15 minutes along the beach to town. We did not want to rent a car this vacation and we never regretted our decision. If we needed to get to or from town, a taxi was always available and reasonably priced. The bus also stopped right out the door. For us, a daily walk became routine. The beach is beautiful. It changes drastically from high to low tide. It is an amazing place to run - early morning or early evening. Safe for children, but fun for adults and many aquatic activities. Sunsets are spectacular! The town is very laid back, but with all the necessary conveniences. Everyone is very friendly and we always felt safe. Good number and variety of restaurants. There is a great information service in town that will help direct you towards many different tours or just answer questions. Deborah, the owner/manager is also a great help. She is available at all times and wants her guests to be happy. Her sons run the Canopy tour and that is a must activity!! Very professional and exciting but safe for all ages. There is even a discount for tenants. As mentioned in other reviews, this apartment is on the main road. There is noise, up until around 10 at night. The roosters ,dogs and monkeys also make themselves known, but all of this is part of the \"true\" Costa Rican experience. We so enjoyed our morning coffee on our balcony and an evening drink as the sun set, watching the world go by. We really felt like became a part of the community. All in all, a wonderful home away from home in a beautiful country.
We had a great stay at Madrelindo! Deborah was very available and even provided an adorable crib for our baby to stay in. The home is very spacious and very clean. It is also very modern. The street in front is busy and can be noisy at times, but it didn\'t bother us at all. The beach is just a short walk away. Town is a bit further up a windy road, to get there from the beach is fairly simple, but in the evenings, we would recommend a car! One morning we had howler monkeys in the tree right in front of the property, it was amazing! The barbecue and everything in the kitchen worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this apartment in Samara, we hope to stay there again some day!
Deborah built a upscale two unit condo with all the latest North American adminates. Complete with clothes washer and dryer, so no need to bring extra clothes. It is located a ten minuted walk from town and only two minutes to the beach. Deborah is very helpful and lives close by on the beach if there are any issues.
The apartment is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need while on vacation. There is a washer, a dryer, air conditioning, beach chairs, a gas barbecue, plenty of dishes and a nice view. There are lots of towels and 2 showers. The only issue we had was the noise of the roosters next door which woke me up between 3 and 3:30 am every day for the week that we were there. I wish I had brought earplugs so I could get a good night\'s sleep.
We just came home from a three week vacation to Playa Samara. We fell in love with this quaint little town and the lovely people who made us feel so welcome. We can hardly wait to come back some day! Deborah and Peter were wonderful generous hosts who really care about your comforts and quality of your vacation time. Gracias for all your love and care:) The apartment sits on a small hill , but very few steps needed to make your entrance. A nice outdoor sitting area filled with beautiful greenery and a cheery outdoor shower awaits you upon entering. The kitchen has a beautiful tiled island and all the glassware, dishes and cooking utensils needed to cook in. There is a lovely fresh fish market in the tiny village of Matapalo, just a few streets down from the apt. We enjoyed many fresh seafood meals, cooked on the outdoor grill. I really appreciated the availability of a washer, dryer and laundry detergent right off the kitchen. We spent many hours sitting on the comfy window seats, chuckling at the horses leaving in the morning to go to the beach, and coming back via the highway at night. There is a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower on the main level and another bath and shower upstairs. I loved the cozy loft bedroom, especially the balcony with two comfy rocking chairs. There\'s lots of fluffy towels available, extra sheets and large beach towels. The beach is only a five minute walk across from the apt. Town is about a 15 minute walk along the beach. Bus stops are right outside your door on either side of the street. Buses and taxis are inexpensive, and very safe. We loved hearing the monkeys and neighbouring brood of chickens. My husband really enjoyed the canopy tour zipline that is offered at the office located under our apt. We also really enjoyed the biological reserve hiking tour also located a short distance from the apt. There are many wonderful restaurants located on the beach and in the town of Samara. We need to come back to try them all!! There are a few grocery stores to choose from, but most often we shopped at the Pali. I would suggest asking your taxi driver to stop in Nicoya on your way from the airport to purchase a main supply of groceries. The grocery prices were better in Nicoya. Make a stop at the Samara info centre located at the Lo Quey Hay restaurant. They will give you valuable information regarding tours, etc. Very helpful staff:))
