My husband and I stayed for 10 days at the property and enjoyed ourselves immensely. It was one of the most relaxing and peaceful places we have been to. The beach is literally out the front door, and every day we would decide on heading left or right for a long walk on a virtually empty and gorgeous beach. Restaurants were within walking distance but we ate in quite a bit. The amenities could do with a little upgrade (bath towels and dishes for example) but for the price and location, we were pleased. Gary and his staff were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Thank you Gary for being such a great host (we enjoyed your stories very much!).
This is our 2nd time staying at Plumita Pacifica. If you are looking for the busy resorts, with a lot of people this is not your place. If you are looking for a gorgeous stretch of beach with no other people on it, then we would highly recommend. Gary has great rental units, they are safe and right on the beach. We love Playa Junquillal it is one of our favorite spots in CR. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I spent 9 wonderful days at Plumita Pacifica and loved every minute of it. Gary was an exceptional host, giving us our space and privacy once he gave us the run down on the casita, restaurants and local events. The mini casita was the right size and less than 30 yards from front door to beach. Picnic table, lawn/beach chairs and a hammock are just a few of the perks you will find at Plumita Pacifica. Playa Junquillal is a beautiful beach that wasn\'t crowded or dangerous. Gary recommended a local company to handle all of our commutes and excursions which made our trip memorable. We felt comfortable enough to ride the local bus into Playa Tamarindo for the day. We participated in releasing 86 baby Olive Ridley turtles back in to the ocean with the Verde Azul Turtle Sanctuary. Ohhhh, the sunsets, words can not describe what we saw. It is a ritual you will find yourself doing every evening. Much thanks Gary, for sharing Plumita Pacifica with us...we will be back.
My wife and I could not have been happier with our choice of accommodations. Gary runs an excellent little slice of heaven right on the beach. His description and videos of the property are exactly what you get. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. If you are looking for tennis courts, a pool, widescreen TVs, and the full spa treatment, this is not the place for you. If however you are looking for la pura vida, this IS the spot. I can definitly see us staying here on a return visit to Costa Rica, I just hope it isn\'t too far in the future. As for Gary\'s recommendations on a tour company, trust me, the folks at TPV couldn\'t have put together a better day of tours. Wonderful way to explore the area. Several nearby restaurants as well, but glad we had a rental car for easy of getting around. Hasta Luego!
We just returned from a wonderful stay at Plumita Pacifica. If you are looking for a tourist town and glam, stay elsewhere. What you get here --- only 2 hours from the Liberia Airport --- is the most beautiful 2-mile beach to yourselves and total relaxation. If you absolutely must go to Tamarindo LOL, it is only about an hour away. The roads though ..... UGH. There are restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommend Sylvia at the neighboring Hotel Castillo Divertido for a mangrove estuary kayaking tour. She was fabulous. We also used TPV for a riverboat animal tour, lunch and stop in Guaitil, where pottery is made. The pottery was incredible. I dare you to leave without buying any! The nice thing about TPV is they pick you up and bring you home. Again ... those roads! Gary\'s description and photos are pretty much right on. It is a beautiful, quiet setting and most everything you need is there. Bring shampoo, soap and beach towels though, as they were not provided and stores are not close. The bed was super comfortable, but not the furniture in the main sitting area. A great shower is important at a beach place and you get two - indoor and outdoor! The wi-fi is great ---- we used it to log into work and also to watch movies. Totally reliable and a huge plus, since it got dark about 6PM. We had lots of sun and beach time and the best thunder/lightning/rain storms!! Gary is a very nice man who genuinely lost Costa Rica -- and full of great information on the local area. I would highly recommend a trip to Gary\'s Plumita Pacifica!
Gary was a wonderful host... went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Even took time out of his day to coordinate the changing of both of our flat tires on our rental car! The long stretch of perfectly sandy beach felt like it was our own personal playground. It was the perfect place to end our 2 week vacation!
