Cabin Has 3 Bedrooms And Accommodates Up To 6 People. Short Walk To Lake. Red Run Cabin is a one story 3 bedroom cottage with finished basement on an acre wooded lot near the west end of the Lake, accommodating up to 6 people. It has lake access through what used to be the Red Run Restaurant property leading to a beach with shallow lake bottom into the lake, making it ideal for small children. There is no dock for this property. It is situated in a park-like setting. It features 2 bedrooms (queen and queen), 2 baths, living room (with TV, Bluray DVD, VCR, video library, and games); fully equipped kitchen/dining area, open deck and hot tub on main floor. The lower level has one bedroom (2 twin beds), and a large recreation/game room with TV, DVD, VCR, Wii, foosball and bumper pool. On the deck is a gas grill and tables and chairs. Out in the yard is a picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire pit. It is close to Swallow Falls and Harrington Manor State Parks. Linens Provided Weekly rentals only. Linens are optional for shorter terms and are charged at $50 for complete set or $25 for one bedroom (Couple). Facts About Destination : Deep Creek Lake area receives an average of 100 inches of snow per year, making it an ideal venue for winter sports. The lake itself freezes with an ice cover of almost 12 inches. Lake effect snows (from the Great Lakes) and lower temperatures due to the higher elevation contribute to this. Ice fishing on the lake is possible when this happens, and you can even snowmobile on the lake. Two of the State Parks are managed for cross country skiers during the winter - Harrington Manor and New Germany. In these parks, the rangers take tracking machines along the Park's trails to provide a track for cross country skiers. It is a beautiful and exhilarating experience to ski these beautiful parks in the winter. Wisp Ski Resort has downhill skiing and tubing if you prefer that. You can try snowshoeing and dogsledding, as well.
Area Information : Deep Creek Lake is the largest man-made lake in Maryland, covering approximately 3,900 acres in area and 69 miles of shoreline. It was created in 1925 by damming tributaries of the Youghiogheny River to produce electricity. Now it is owned by the State of Maryland for its recreational value. At an altitude of nearly 2,500 feet, the lake area is about 10 degrees cooler than the Baltimore/Washington area and has a winter snowfall of about 100 inches, making it ideal for both summer and winter outdoor activities.

We really enjoy the stay. Nice and quiet / relaxing. The hot tub was very enjoyable. We loved the view from the front porch. Getting around from the property was easy. The house was just the right size. We would stay again. Such A great area to take a vacation. Thanks John

Red Run Cabin was the perfect little cabin for our week at Deep Creek! It is a minute walk to the lake and it is close to the state parks, activities, and shopping. There were many little conveniences that were taken care of like fire wood, laundry detergent, dish washing soap, hand soap, etc. The cabin was spotless and nicely decorated. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The basement is the perfect kids getaway! A huge bonus was being able to bring our dog. She loved the lake! We had a wonderful week and plan to visit again!
