Our Palace is located in North Spain, in the stunning Cantabria Alto Asón region, where it has stood since the 17th century, surrounded by lush forests and the Natural Park Collados del Asón.
It offers top quality accommodation, restaurant, swimming pool, modern spa facilities with free jacuzzi and sauna, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the entire building.
?Renovated in 2017, the Palace is elegantly decorated with stone walls and exquisite antique furniture. The Palace's restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner offering local products.
Torre de Ruesga Palace was designed and executed in 1610 by renowned architect Diego de Sisniega, who had previously worked at the construction of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). With his work in Ruesga, Sisniega established what would later become the ideal prototype for all noble houses and palaces in Cantabria.
?The Palace has recently been renovated with the utmost respect for its rich history, preserving all the details and grandeur of the 17th century. The exquisite frescoes that painter Leon Criach and Duran completed in 1886 have also been restored and decorate the walls and ceilings of the main hall, the library, and the entertaining room.
?Today's interior decoration of the Palace is a contemporary and luxurious take on the splendor of the original furnishings. All rooms have been designed with a meticulous attention to detail that emulates the magnificence with which its original owners surrounded themselves.
The region where the palace is situated offers its guests a wide array of activities to enjoy during their stay. They range from cultural options such as visiting churches, hermitages and caves with fascinating examples of Paleolithic art, to leisure oriented options like bike rides, horseback riding, or walking through the natural forests that surround us. Beautiful beaches are only 25 minutes away by car.
?The Ruesga Valley, located in the region of Alto Asón, serves as an incomparable setting for the Palace. Surrounded by lush forests of chestnut, walnut, poplar and alisas, it preserves to pure nature, where hunting and fishing abound and you can observe the diversity of fauna, with a great variety of birds, vultures, and many more.
?The Asón River, bordering the hotel gardens, irrigates this region and gives it an incomparable beauty with a thousand different tones of green.
