Why it is Famous : Park City is an old mining town turned Ski Area.
Facts About Destination : Tollgate Canyon is where a toll Gate was set up to charge the 49er gold rush people to pass through Utah on their way to California.
Area Information : The SilverCrest Lodge is located almost at the top of the mountain at the 8,000 foot level.
How to reach : On I-80 take exit #150 and drive 3.5 miles up Tollgate Canyon to get to the cabin.
Transport system : Cars are fine in the Summer, but 4 wheel drive is required for the Winter.
Precautions : Beware of snow sliding off cabin roof in Winter.
